Havens Hospices incorporates Fair Havens Hospice and Little Havens Children’s Hospice. The charity provides specialist respite breaks, symptom control and end of life care to adults and children living with life-limiting illnesses. Fair Havens in Westcliff was the first to open in 1983, caring for adults across Southend, Castle Point and Rochford. Little Havens followed 15 years later caring for children and families across Essex.
As the care and support provided is completely free of charge, they rely on the goodwill of their neighbouring communities and local businesses to ensure they raise over £5 million pounds a year needed to continue caring. Without the support of fund raising activities and the generosity of the general public they could not exist. They are committed to ensuring that valuable donated funds deliver the best possible care for the children, patients and families who rely on their services.
Havens Hospices to save up to £40,000 p.a. with the Compleat Buyers Group.
In 2010, Havens Hospices implemented a 50 user Compleat Purchase to Pay solution to help them save money across the organisation as well as significantly reduce the time of their key staff in administration processes.
Compleat Purchase to Pay automates the entire purchasing process, implementing control over which suppliers are used, what prices are paid, whether the expenditure is within budget and making sure the purchase invoice accurately reflects the prices agreed. Compleat also seamlessly integrates with their MS Dynamics GP accounting software, improving accuracy and saving a great deal of time. David Pearce, Head of Finance for Havens Hospices said “Compleat has enabled us to ensure that every penny donated counts. Compleat has given us a level of control far beyond the most diligent manual process, allowing our staff to focus on providing care, not doing admin.”
The Compleat Buyers Group can potentially save Havens Hospices over £40,000 per annum, a significant sum in a tough market!
Peter Marriner, Finance Director comments “CBG is a fixed price annual fee which avoids all of the problems and time required to deal with “sharing” potential savings. There were a number of organisations offering similar services, but the Compleat Buyers Group is unique and offered more than just savings."
Compleat P2P now includes Contract Management, capturing all term agreements and generating competitive quotation requests in good time before the termination date. Compleat also provides access to some 70,000 catalogue item from global suppliers direct to the desktop with savings averaging around 12 – 15% and clients can add own catalogues from other suppliers.
Peter Marriner concludes “Compleat P2P and Buyers Group will save Havens Hospices both money and time, so we can stay focused on helping people and their families through very difficult times. Equally as important are the supporters who donate to our cause and they can be totally confident that their hard work and generosity is put to maximum effect helping us to continue providing hospice care for the adults and children who rely on our services.”
